Goldsboro, NC (1/30/2015) - Extreme Promotions and Races proudly announced they will be holding the first annual Winterfest at Busco Beach and ATV Park in Goldsboro, NC on February 27th - 28th where SXS’s and ATV’s can compete in Saturday’s XC race for their share of a $4,000.00 purse.
By early February most racers are chomping at the bit to get out and hit the dirt and now the team at Extreme Promotions and Races is giving riders the opportunity to shake off the winter chill and do some racing with the first annual Winterfest XC race. The timing of this event couldn’t be more perfect; scheduled just one week before the first round of the GNCC series, it gives racers the perfect opportunity to test out new equipment and dial in their machines.
“I am really looking forward to Winterfest. It’s a family event that my whole family will be attending, so it should be a lot of fun. This is also a great opportunity for us to get in some seat time and test all of our equipment and make sure we have everything dialed in as good as we think we do before we head down to Florida,” said 2014 GNCC 4x4 Pro champion, Bryan Buckhannon who will be racing the Unlimited SxS class with the 2015 Can-Am Maverick X RS and in the ATV 4x4 class aboard the Can-Am Renegade.
The event kicks off on Friday, February 27th with TT racing that starts at 6:00pm. Racers will get the opportunity to race under the lights on the well renowned Busco Beach TT track. Registration opens at 6:00pm with qualifying heats at 7:00pm and Mains starting at 8:00.
There will also be a Friday night Dash for Cash race with both ATV and SxS classes. For the ATV’s there will be an unlimited class and amateur class for adults and a Mini class for the kids, while the UTV’s will have one unlimited class. There is a 75% payback for both ATV and UTV unlimited classes and a 50% payback for the amateur and mini quad classes.
The fun continues on Saturday with XC racing starting at 10:00am and a $4,000.00 purse up for grabs. There will be three divisions for the XC race: UTV, ATV Sport and ATV 4x4. All divisions will have two classes, a “Money” class and Beginner class but you cannot sign up in both a beginner and money class, you must choose one or the other.
The awards ceremony will commence at 4:30pm and will be followed by more family fun with a BBQ and bonfire. Racers and families are welcome to stick around for a free ride on Sunday.
