The Wicked Bilt/CanAm Team partners with the GBC Heartland Challenge
Dave Plavi's Strong Run Slowed by Illness

2015 Heartland Challenge
Twinsburg, OH (8/28/2015) - The Wicked Bilt backed team, had a great experience as a sponsor of the GBC Heartland Challenge Endurance race in Carlisle, Iowa. In fact, the aftermarket manufacturer of heavy duty steering racks, electric power steering systems, recovery gear and LED lights, plans to return next year with an even bigger and better program.

“This is the best racing event that we do all year long,” said Pat McGuire with Offroad Motorsports / Wicked Bilt. “We do all of the GNCC races, AWRCS races and some other races along the way, but the GBC Heartland Challenge is, by far, the best race. Not only is the track and the atmosphere great, but the payout is unequalled. They have some great sponsors on board that make this all possible, hats off to GBC tires, the title sponsor, of this awesome event!

“Wicked Bilt plans to step up the sponsorship package, offering a larger prize package next year,” added McGuire. “This was a record year for participation. It’s one of those races you go to and you immediately feel welcome. I suggest to anyone that hasn’t been here, come here. This is the best UTV race out there.”

Offroad Motorsports' Wicked Bilt/ CanAm 591 Maverick driven by David Plavi, was an early contender, in Friday’s four-hour UTV race. Plavi ran as high as second in the race before retiring with nausea and a fever.

“I got some kind of a virus,” said Plavi. “We didn’t get a great start, but we were gaining, especially after everyone pitted for the first time. We knew it was a four-hour race so there was plenty of time." It was devastating, that I got so sick I couldn’t continue."

Despite his illness, Plavi enjoyed the unique atmosphere offered by the Heartland event: “This race is a lot different than anything else,” said Plavi. “The course is so nice. It has a great mix of everything.”

With much of the race run after dark, Plavi ran Wicked Bilt’s new LED lights on the Wicked Bilt Maverick. “They are super bright and I could see really well,” said Plavi. “That gave us a great advantage; it was almost as if we weren’t racing at night.”

Plavi will next carry the Wicked Bilt / CanAm banner to Round 9 of the AWRCS Series on Sept. 26th where his poised to clinch the UTV championship for the team.
