Racer Tech/Can-Am driver
Logan Gastel survived a rough and dusty course
to finish tenth in the BlueWater Desert Challenge
Best in the Desert Series race in Parker AZ
on October 10-11th.
Gastel started 11th in the race, run over
two days in the desert just adjacent to the
BlueWater Resort. The 25-mile circuit featured
two three-lap races for a total of 150 miles.
With dry, windless weather, dust caused near-zero
visibility during both days of competition.

Racer Tech's Logan Gastel finished
10th at BITD BlueWater Challenge |
Gastel was fast off the start of day one
in his Can-Am Maverick Turbo, but had a fuel
starvation issue that caused his vehicle to
go into limp mode when he high sided a berm
on the second lap. After falling to dead last,
he rebounded to finish 14th on day one. On
day two, Gastel fought even dustier conditions
to finish 10th overall, just less than 30
minutes behind the winner.
“We had to stop for a good five minutes to
clear the code on day one and dropped to dead
last,” said Gastel. “We battled back and we
were ready for day two. On day two the course
was much more difficult. It was like driving
through powdered sugar. It was super dusty
and it was rough in a lot of places. We did
our best to keep up a fast pace, while keeping
the car together. It came down to a matter
of less than a second between us an eighth
place at the end.”

Gastel credited the durability of his Racer
Tech parts of the top-10 finish. “Racer Tech
is wonderful,” said Gastel. “We did Vegas
to Reno and this race for a total of 700 miles
without a failure on any one of our parts.
These parts are taking a beating out there.
I’m really impressed that we’ve had more than
700 race miles without one failure.”
Gastel will return to desert competition
at the BITD season finale, Henderson 250,
on December 5th in Nevada.
