Parker, AZ (1/15/2015) - Pro Motorsports’ Matt and Jeff Hancock teamed up for the first round of the 2015 BITD series at the THR Motorsports’ Parker 250 and took the competition by storm as they charged their way to the win in the BITD Pro Quad class.

The 2015 Best in the Desert quad classes lined up, just before dawn for a 7:30am start time. As racers left the line, there was lighting streaking through the sky off in the distance. Eventually the rain would move in, but not until the second lap of the three lap race.

Just three weeks before the opening round of the 2015 BITD series, The Hancock brothers decided to team up and have a little fun out in the desert. The Hancock team had a front row start pick and were the first to leave the line with Jeff Hancock piloting their Pro Motorsports’ Honda. Jeff Hancock was in the lead by about 30 seconds when he handed the quad over to Matt Hancock. “We had a good lead at the first change and we held on to our lead for the entire race and increased it to about five minutes,” said Matt Hancock.

“We were expecting a rougher track, but they graded a lot of it. I was kind of disappointed because I like the rougher terrain and do well in it. There were still some really rough patches out there though and our Elka shocks and Maxxis tires did a great job out there. I can’t say enough about our Sparks engine either. We had plenty of power, even in the sandy sections. My brother Jeff said it was the fastest quad he has ever rode,” said Matt Hancock.

The Hancock brothers stayed out front for the entire race to take the first Pro Quad win of the 2015 BITD series, and third overall. “This was the first time we ever raced together and we decided to team up for this one round since it’s close to home. We just wanted to go out there and have some fun. It was actually really big for us to go out there and take the first win. Jeff hasn’t raced in about 6 years and it has been a couple of years since I have raced the BITD series. I don’t plan to race the entire series but it’s a great way to start the year and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year plays out,” said Matt Hancock, who is preparing for the 2015 WORCS series.
