In the first moto, Hetrick grabbed the holeshot, but he had plenty of company and was soon engaged in battle. There was a back and forth battle for several laps before Hetrick took back the lead and pulled away, taking the moto win by almost 11 seconds. “Moto one was really good for me. Chad (Wienen) and I were battling back and forth, but I got him, and I was able to pull a nice lead and get the win,” said Hetrick.
For the second moto, Hetrick was running in a solid second and applying pressure for the lead. Hetrick waited for an opportunity and in the fifth lap, he took the lead and again pulled away. Hetrick stayed fast and consistent and took the moto two win for the top spot on the podium and the pro points lead.

“This year’s quad is by far the best handling Honda I have ever been on. Walsh, DASA, Elka, and Maxxis have really made a difference for me. I had a great weekend at Highpoint. There were a lot of fans out there cheering me on, so it’s a great feeling to go home with the win and the points lead, especially with it happening in my home state,” said Hetrick.
Hetrick’s win now has him with a two point advantage, and the #88 is prepared to keep it that way. “Now I just want to stay consistent and keep the lead. If I can do that, I have a great shot at the championship this year,” said Hetrick.
Round five of the 2015 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships heads to the Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN on May 30th, where Joel Hetrick will be going for another win to extend his points lead.
