Jeffrey Rastrelli charged his way to a fourth
place overall finish at Red Bud MX during the
ninth round of the Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross National
Championship in Buchanan, MI. Rastrelli sits in
fifth place in points, but he has closed the gap
to just two points on taking over fourth.

Rastrelli started off moto one with a mid-pack
start, but made the best of it, picking off riders
and charging his way to the front of the pack.
“I had to work through quite a few riders. It
was a tough moto, all those guys were flying out
there. I just put my head down and charged to
fifth place. It was a pretty good first moto,”
said Rastrelli.

Improving on his first moto finish, Rastrelli
rode to an impressive fourth place in moto two,
which also gave him fourth place overall on the
day. “My JB Racing CanAm and ITP tires launched
me off the gate, and I had my best start all year,
coming out in second,” said Rastrelli.
Rastrelli had not been able to ride the past
couple weeks between races, which took its toll
on him by moto two in the humid and rough, sandy
conditions at RedBud. “Not riding the past couple
weeks in between rounds really killed me. I got
tired and faded a little bit, but overall it was
a really good race. I was happy to come out with
a fourth without much riding,” said Rastrelli.

Rastrelli’s excellent performance at Red Bud
propelled him forward in the points. He currently
sits in fifth, but the battle for fourth is heating
up with Rastrelli now just two points down. “The
goal is to go to Loretta’s and finish out the
year in fourth,” said Rastrelli.
On August 8-9 Rastrelli heads to Loretta Lynn’s
Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN for the final round
of the Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championship.
