Bakersfield, CA (5/28/2015) - For the second straight race, H&M Motorsports swept the Pro ATV podium at round six of the 2015 WORCS series where David Haagsma took the win, followed by Beau Baron in second and the newest member of the team, Collins Webster, rounded out the top three in Cedar City, UT.

The heavy rain the night before gave way to near perfect conditions for the Pro ATV race. The ideal conditions allowed the team to get good starts. Rain did move in during the race, but it didn’t hamper the efforts of the team.
Maxxis’ David Haagsma was in second off the start and was close behind his teammate, Beau Baron.

“I had a good start thanks to my Sparks engine and Maxxis tires. I was behind Beau, and I got by him just before the enduro section. It started pouring rain after that and when we came around again, I couldn’t see and overshot a jump and slid at the bottom, and he passed me back. He pulled a gap on me, but the second to last lap, I pinned it and got close enough. I got by when he had to stop and pit. He was on me the whole last lap, and it was super close at the end, and I’m pretty pumped now that I got the win,” said Haagsma, who plans to attend a couple rounds of the 2015 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series during the WORCS summer break.

Sparks’ Beau Baron grabbed the holeshot, but fell back to second for a short time. Baron took the lead back, but again fell to second when he had to stop for fuel. “My Sparks motor ripped off the start and got me the holeshot, and my Maxxis tires really hooked up and got me out front. I couldn’t make the turn going into the endure section and David got around me. We were battling really hard and the rain really made a difference. I was able to get back around David though, but he got me back when we went into the pits. I really tried to get by him but couldn’t, and he got me by just a little,” said Baron.

Baron does exceptionally well in the woods and is looking forward to the next round in Washington state. “I like the woods. I like the technical stuff and that’s where I usually do well, and I am hoping to take the win and the points lead back at the next round,” said Baron.

Collins Webster, who recently signed on to the H&M Motorsports team, was doing well and holding a fast pace despite the rain. Webster was running in the number three spot and stayed consistent and finished on the podium in third. “It felt pretty good to be on the box. I have been training and working hard to get back in shape. The H&M quads with the Sparks/Elka/Roll set up are awesome and got me back to back podiums,” said Webster.

For Saturday’s Pro UTV event, Beau Baron didn’t get the start he was hoping for and was stuck behind some other drivers. “I got stuck behind David (Haagsma) and then I caught up to a couple others and I got stuck behind them. I used all of my tear offs and had a tough time seeing, and I ended up fourth in time,” said Baron, who is currently third in points.

David Haagsma started out strong in the number three spot in the Pro SxS class, but a belt issue caused him to drop back. “I was able to get it changed and get back out there, but I lost a lot of time and finished in ninth,” said Haagsma, who is just two points behind Baron in fourth.
