Daniels, WV (5/29/2015) - Can-Am
/ QuadBoss / BikeMaster’s Bryan Buckhannon Finished
second in the Pro 4x4 class and second overall on
the morning podium at the Mountaineer Run, round
seven of the 2015 GNCC series, and continues to
hold the championship points lead.
The Mountaineer Run in Masontown, WV was a tough
course with plenty of rocks, tight technical trails
and even a few mud holes. The course was challenging,
but weather conditions were favorable. Bryan Buckhannon,
who was feeling a bit under the weather for this
round, was ready for action and looking forward
to the challenge.

4x4 Pro Podium to extend his points lead
to 20 points |
Buckhannon charged his way into the early lead
in lap one, but after dropping back a few spots,
he remounted a charge and was once again challenging
for the lead. “My Quad was working great out there
and I was having a really good race and catching
the leader. On the last lap, I was trying to close
in and I took another line through a mud hole
and ended up going over the bars. I gave it a
handful of throttle and got back out, but I took
a hard hit to the gut with the handlebars and
that took a lot out of me, and I just couldn’t
catch back up,” said Buckhannon.

Despite the mishap, Buckhannon was still able
to finish within 22 seconds of the leader and
hold on for a second place finish in his class
and overall. Buckhannon has finished in the top
three in his class at every round so far this
season, giving him the points lead with a 20 point
advantage. “Being able to finish well all season
has certainly been an advantage and I am going
to do my best to secure a few more wins before
the end of the season and wrap up a championship,”
said Buckhannon.
Bryan Buckhannon’s nephew, who is also Bryan
Buckhannon, took home a top ten finish in the
Supermini 12-15 class. “We put a CRF 150R engine
in his Cobra frame for this race and it ran great.
He was running in the top five early in the race,
but his brake caliper came off and hit his exhaust
and that caused him to fall back again, but we
are trying to get things together for him and
we are looking for him to do well at the John
Penton, and hopefully be in the top five. This
is his first year, so we are just trying to make
sure he takes baby step and doesn’t get in over
his head,” said Buckhannon.

his points lead eve further by going for the win.
